# How do I add a client and a job?

Open Jobs and choose New job. Pick the client or add a new one in the same step, then give the job a name and address. A job is the record everything else hangs off: estimates, contracts, photos, the schedule and invoices.

## Step by step

1. Open Jobs and choose New job.
2. Choose an existing client, or enter a new client's name and phone or email.
3. Name the job and start typing the address. Pick it from the suggestions so the job gets a map position.
4. Add the trade if you like, then create the job.

## Good to know

- Picking the address from the suggestions lets the job show a map and the drive time between stops.
- A client's phone and email are kept private from people whose role does not allow them to see contact details.
