# How do I send an invoice and record a payment?

Bill a deposit or the balance from the accepted estimate in one step, send it to the customer, and record each payment when it arrives. GetProSpace keeps the ledger and shows what is owed. It does not take or move your customers' money.

## Step by step

1. Open the accepted job and choose to bill the deposit or the balance.
2. Review the invoice and send it by text or email.
3. When a payment arrives (check, cash, card on your own terminal, or a transfer), open the invoice and record it.
4. The invoice shows what has been paid and what is still owed.

## Good to know

- Approved change orders are added to the job's price and its invoices.
- Your payment instructions, such as who to make a check out to, show on the invoice.
- Reminders can be sent automatically for invoices that are waiting.
