## Example: kitchen remodel

Lines marked optional are add-ons the customer can choose, and they are not in the total until chosen.

- The scope by area and trade, with what is not included
- Allowances for items the customer chooses later, with the amount
- Permits and who arranges them
- A schedule with start and finish, and what could change it
- How changes are handled and priced
- Payment stages tied to progress

### How long should a remodeling estimate be good for?
