Roofing invoice template
Many roofing jobs are billed in two steps: a deposit to get started and a final invoice when the work is done, with any approved changes added. Here are both, as examples to copy. In GetProSpace they are made from the accepted estimate in one step.
Example: the deposit invoice
Sent when the customer accepts the estimate, to schedule the job and order materials.
| Item | Quantity | Price each | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit: 25% of the agreed price | 1 | — | $3862.50 |
| Total | $3862.50 | ||
An example only. Set your own deposit and terms, and check what your area allows for deposits.
Example: the final invoice
Sent when the work is done. It shows the agreed price, any approved change orders, and what has already been paid.
| Item | Quantity | Price each | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agreed price: roof replacement | 1 | — | $15,450 |
| Approved change order: rotted decking under the old shingles | 1 | — | $618 |
| Deposit already paid | 1 | — | -$3862.50 |
| Total | $12205.50 | ||
An example only. The balance due is the total of these lines.
What to put on a roofing invoice
- Your company name, address, contact details and license number where required
- The customer's name and the job address
- An invoice number and the date
- What is being billed: the deposit, the balance, or an approved change
- Amounts already paid and the balance due
- When it is due, and how to pay you: who checks are payable to, or how to send a transfer
- The estimate or contract it relates to
Bill it from GetProSpace
Bill the deposit or the balance from the accepted estimate in one step, send it by text from your business line or by email, and record each payment you receive. GetProSpace keeps the ledger and shows what is owed on Today. It does not move your customers' money: payments are recorded, not processed.

Questions
How do I add a change order to the final invoice?
When a customer approves a change order, its amount is added to the job's price. The final invoice is made from the accepted estimate and the approved changes, minus what has been paid.
Can customers pay the invoice online?
Not yet. They see what is owed and how to pay you (the instructions you write, such as who to make a check out to). You record the payment when it arrives.
Is this template really free?
Yes. Copy the examples, or use the Markdown version of this page at the same address plus .md. You do not need an account.
