Painting invoice template

Many painting jobs are billed in two steps: a deposit to get started and a final invoice when the work is done, with any approved changes added. Here are both, as examples to copy. In GetProSpace they are made from the accepted estimate in one step.

What to put on a painting invoice

  • Your company name, address, contact details and license number where required
  • The customer's name and the job address
  • An invoice number and the date
  • What is being billed: the deposit, the balance, or an approved change
  • Amounts already paid and the balance due
  • When it is due, and how to pay you: who checks are payable to, or how to send a transfer
  • The estimate or contract it relates to

Bill it from GetProSpace

Bill the deposit or the balance from the accepted estimate in one step, send it by text from your business line or by email, and record each payment you receive. GetProSpace keeps the ledger and shows what is owed on Today. It does not move your customers' money: payments are recorded, not processed.

See the painting page for how a whole job runs, or the painting estimate template.

Questions

How do I add a change order to the final invoice?

When a customer approves a change order, its amount is added to the job's price. The final invoice is made from the accepted estimate and the approved changes, minus what has been paid.

Can customers pay the invoice online?

Not yet. They see what is owed and how to pay you (the instructions you write, such as who to make a check out to). You record the payment when it arrives.

Is this template really free?

Yes. Copy the examples, or use the Markdown version of this page at the same address plus .md. You do not need an account.
